Option 7

Dear everyone,
Professor Burbules also thinks number 7 is a good option, so count me in. But before I do any writing I should do some more research. It may take at least 15 to 20 days. If anyone is in the same condition, we could set a deadline for beginning. Looking forward to your replies. Love, Maria Marta

Action research -different kinds

As Mr. Burbules suggested this can be an interesting topic. I´ve just opened a google doc to write collaboratively. I´m planning a Prezi presentation and perhaps, why not, a short movie...Who joins the group?

Let´s get started:

Design Experiments in Educactional Research involve:

The key idea is captured in the two words of the title, design and experiment. It´s a design because it´s an attempt to implement a proposed change, a structured change in teaching or organization of classrooms or policies at the school level. There is a design component and a re-design component. It´s also an experiment to try out new forms, to study them, to see how they work and to learn form the process of studying them the experiment parts and how to revise and change them. The process involves: the design or intervention, experimentation, testing revisisng the new form, trying it again, study it again and again in an on going cycle. It´s a process, it´s not a one time intervention. It´s a process of change, study and reflection, cycling over time.

Brainstorming nº 7

In my opinion brainstorming idea 7 is the best choice. Group discussion will help us distinguish design experiments from action research and that will be much useful to decide which method we can use in our future research.
